April 12, 2005:

NOTE #1:  Some of you are getting marked off for spacing errors made after punctuation marks!  Remember that you space TWICE after EVERY punctuation mark that ends a sentence!

NOTE #2:  Since only 2 pages are due today, their point values will be elevated!  This is so that those of you who are here and complete them can be rewarded, and those who are absent will "feel the pain."

1)  Type all lines on pages 73.  Instead of saving it on your disk, though, you will print this page to turn in today!  Make sure you type the lines in the bottom section, making the corrections suggested by the "proof-reader's marks" noted within it.

2)  Type BOTH sections on pages 79.  Instead of saving it on your disk, though, you will print this page to turn in today!  Make sure you type the lines in the bottom section, converting the handwritten text, to printed text.

3)  Once you've finished these two pages, today, feel free to use today as a catch-up day.  REMEMBER, though, you can only do work in class that you got behind on DURING class.  Missed work (except due to school excused reasons) MUST be made up during ELO, or they won't be scored!

**Typing Bottom Section of This Page:
  A) First, type all lines in each section.

April 28, 2005:

1)  Today's first assignment is to type the instructions/rules area regarding the proper formatting of "memos" on the top of page 114.  You'll see a green bar that contains, "Lesson 45 - Simplified Memos" along the middle of that page.  Type everything above that green bar, including the title of the page, but excluding the example memo to the extreme left of that page.
BE SURE TO INCLUDE A TABLE WITH THE MARGIN INFORMATION WITHIN IT, just like what you see on the page!  See me, if you have questions about how to set up a table.  Print this document when completed, and you will be graded for accuracy.  Once returned to you, you are advised to keep it for later reference for an upcoming quiz

2)  Type the memo on page 115, remembering to follow all of the rules of proper memo preparations (most things are marked and/or abbreviated in red throughout the page).  Again, print this document when finished, and you will be graded for correct margin setup, as well as spelling, punctuation, spacing, etc.

3)  Prepare for this week's timed writing for a grade!  Today, the "A" level will be 35 WPM.  Next week, we settle in at 40 WPM for the "A" level, which is where it will stay for the rest of this semester.
