May 2, 2005:

NOTE:  Your teacher will randomly print one of today's memos to be graded critically for FORM, SPELLING, MECHANICS, SPACING, etc.  You will not know which one he uses for this purpose until after you get them back for a grade.  The other two will be counted as daily grade effort points for 30 points each.

1)  Type the memo on page 117, remembering to follow all of the rules of proper memo preparations (most things are marked and/or abbreviated in red throughout the page, in either blue or red/pink).  Again, print this document when finished, and you will be graded for correct margin setup, as well as spelling, punctuation, spacing, etc.  Reference page 114, if you need to.  You will then save this document on your disk, titled:
"Page 117 Memo  05-02-05"

2)  Type both memos on page 118, remembering to follow all of the rules of proper memo preparations (most things are marked and/or abbreviated in red throughout the page, in either blue or red/pink).  Again, print this document when finished, and you will be graded for correct margin setup, as well as spelling, punctuation, spacing, etc.  Reference page 114, if you need to. You will then save these documents on your disk, titled:
"Page 118 Memo1  05-02-05" and  "Page 118 Memo2  05-02-05"

3)  Type all lines on page 121, making sure to create four (4) returns between the top and bottom sections.  Save this page properly on your disk the way you normally would, using today's date as part of your document title.

May 4, 2005:

1)  Today's first assignment is to type the instructions/rules area regarding the proper formatting of "Block Letters" on page 123.  Type everything on this page, including the title of the page.
BE SURE TO INCLUDE A TABLE WITH THE MARGIN INFORMATION WITHIN IT, just like what you see on the page!  See me, if you have questions about how to set up a table.  Print this document when completed, and you will be graded for accuracy.  Once returned to you, you are advised to keep it for later reference for an upcoming quiz containing questions regarding Memos and Block Letters.

2)  Type the Block letter on page 124, remembering to follow all of the rules of proper block letter preparations (most things are marked and/or abbreviated in red and light blue throughout the page).  Again, print this document when finished, and you will be graded for correct margin setup, as well as spelling, punctuation, spacing, etc.

3)  Type ONLY the Block letter on page 125, remembering to follow all of the rules of proper block letter preparations.  This time, your margin rules, etc. are not given to you.  Again, print this document when finished, and you will be graded for correct margin setup, as well as spelling, punctuation, spacing, etc.
NOTE:  Staple this document to your first one from the previous page, and then turn them in to your instructor for a grade today.

4)  If you finish all three assignments above, and have time, you might work on some timed writings for next time.  We increase the "A" level by another 5 WPM this week, and many of you were right around last week's level.

Have a GREAT Wildcat Day!!!

May 16, 2005:

1)  Today's assignments are to complete Microtype numbers lessons #10 thru #12.  Be sure to print and turn in all 3 results sheets to your instructor before you leave today.

2)  Also, I will NOT bring your floppy disks to class anymore after today, as we will not be needing them.  Please take the time to come get your disk, to check them for any assignments that you turned in, which were either marked "Not Done" or were not titled correctly.  Give them back to me, if you have nothing on your disks any longer, and I'll file them for you.

3)  Those of you who finish early today, and who are not typing near the 40 WPM "A" level should work on your typing skills.  The Final Timed Writing of the semester will be done on Wednesday of this week, so as not to take time from the senior's Final Exams.

REMINDER!!!  There is only ONE more week of school, before Final Exams week!  You may NOT make up any missed work after this week!  This means that you have only Tuesday's and Thursday's ELO blocks to see me for this purpose.  Check your grades, and see what you might be missing, then make sure you give yourself PLENTY of time to make up what you've missed.  IT CAN ONLY BE DONE DURING ELO, UNLESS IT WAS MISSED DUE TO SCHOOL-EXCUSED REASONS!!

Have a GREAT Wildcat Day!!!
